Welcome back, looking forward to a great year.

Ba maith liom fáilte ar ais a chur roimh ár bpáistí agus a gclann go léir agus fáilte mór a chur roimh na bpáistí nua a thosaigh an seachtain seo caite. Tá súil agam go mbéadh bliain iontach agus sonasach ag gach éinne sa scoil.

Welcome back to all our pupils in 4th, 5th and 6th classes and a very special welcome to the boys and girls in 3rd classes as they start their journey in St Francis Xavier Senior School this year. I would also like to extend a special welcome to returning staff member, Ms Orla Rogers (fomerly Ms. Martin) and new to our teaching staff, Ms. Lorna Ward, Mr. Gary Mc Cabe and Ms. Aoife O’Reilly. We are delighted to have these new members of staff join the ever-expanding Xavier’s team!

This year we plan to continue with many of the initiatives introduced over the past number of years including BizWorld, An Caife Gaeilge, our Fieldtrip Programme, the Dublin debating competition, sporting activities and include some new ventures also! Our Action Team for Partnership is heading into its second year and we will have updates on this year’s plans for you in the coming weeks.

This week our Deputy Principal, Ms. Byrne, and I will attend a Briefing Day for school leaders where we will be informed of the Department of Education initiatives and plans for the coming year.

The start of the new school year is an exciting time for all of our school community. It holds the promise of a great year ahead that all new beginnings bring. We encourage our pupils to embrace this fresh start and be the very best they can be in their friendships, in their learning, in their sporting activities and hobbies, and in their home with their families.
