Sharing the SFX story at the 2019 Nordic Principal’s Conference!
Last week I was privileged to join the Irish delegation of primary and secondary school principals who travelled to Habo, Sweden to participate in the 2019 Kurs Nord Conference. Participating countries included Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Ireland. Although a Nordic Principals’ Forum, Ireland has always been invited to participate thanks to the many innovative European projects spearheaded by Dublin West Education Centre.
Guest speakers included Mr. Claes Nilholm, professor in education in Uppsala University; Ms. Åsa Lundquist Coey, who specializes in leadership, communication and change; and Ms. Louise Bringselius, senior lecturer in organization and management in Lund University. A series of workshops were organised and I was delighted to have the opportunity to share St. Francis Xavier Senior School involvement in Partnership Schools’ Ireland and the achievements of our Action Team for Partnership (ATP).
One of the highlights of the conference were school visits where we had the opportunity to experience the Swedish education system first-hand. It was very reassuring to see how favourably the Irish school system compares to those of our Nordic colleagues.
”tack själv” to our wonderful Swedish hosts!
