Back to school in Room 12

Room 12 has been up to a lot since we got back in the classroom but we’ve been spending a lot of time outdoors to keep safe!

A few weeks ago the boys and girls did a mental health scavenger hunt. They wore odd shoes, socks and an orange top and donated money to Pieta House.

The boys and girls were given clues and had to answer questions.

For the last few weeks we have been learning about the life cycle of plants. We put broad beans in cups with cotton wool and water.

They grew quite quickly over the last few weeks.

They got so big that we decided to ask Brian for some help to put them in soil.

Brian taught us lots about how to grow plants and answered lots of our questions.

We took the seeds out of the cups and removed the cotton wool. We then put soil in the cups and placed the beans back in with the roots facing down.

We did this one by one and sanitized our hands straight after.

The boys and girls answered questions about the life cycle of plants.

Hopefully they grow well and we can harvest some of the beans in June!
