Principal’s Message

Welcome to St. Francis Xavier Senior School website.  Our school has been central to the community for over 40 years now. These past 40 years have seen great changes in education and in society and our school reflects these changes from embracing new initiatives in education, to our wonderfully diverse pupil population.

Underpinning the success of any school is partnership. We are most fortunate here at St. Francis Xavier Senior School to enjoy wonderful partnership between, staff, parents, the Board of Management and the local community. The work of both our dedicated Board of Management and our dynamic Parents’ Association provides tremendous support to the school in our mission to create an environment which allows all individuals to realise their full potential.

We are grateful to be able to embrace many new and exciting initiatives to enhance pupil learning from participation in partnership programmes with Bank of Ireland BizWorld, Alexion Pharmaceuticals, STEAM Engineering, Blanchardstown Credit Union and Ebay to mention a few.

Keeping pupil and staff wellbeing at the forefront of all that we do, we schedule meditation time twice weekly and provide pupils with the opportunity to participate in workshops, most recently with the Gaiety School of Acting.

Our school was recently awarded Digital School of Distinction status. This award was as a result of the commitment of staff and the Board of Management to advancing ICT in our school over the past two years. Our validator acknowledged that “There is rich and graphic evidence that ICTs and Mobile Media are ever present into the cultural fabric of St. Francis Xavier SNS.”

This new website has been in the re-development and re-design stage for some time now and we are delighted to introduce it to our school community. Through this website we hope that parents and pupils will enjoy keeping up-to-date with pupil learning and achievement in academia, sport, the arts or public speaking. We have a wonderful cohort of pupils who continue to do us proud and we believe this new website will be the perfect vehicle to communicate the great work of staff, pupils and the school community.

Le gach dea-ghuí,

Adrienne Darby
